ADA Accessibility

Do you have playground Area ADA Accessibility Concerns? With Play Mart, there is no need to worry about ADA / ABA laws. We've got you covered! Play Mart, Inc.'s fun, environmentally friendly play systems meet all ADA Accessibility requirements!

At Play Mart we endeavor to make our play areas inviting and friendly community environments to people of all abilities. Towards that end, we have designed our playsets to provide access to play components by transfer stations, ramps, and accessible surfacing routes according to the Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG). We have also designed play components specifically for wheelchair bound children, such as our ADA Driving Panel and Talk Tube Combo (see photo at left).

The ADA Accessibility Guideline divides routes of access into two categories:

1. Transfer Systems:

Provide access to elevated play components on the play equipment.

• Transfer Decks with Handles
• Transfer Steps with Handles

2. Wheelchair Routes: 

Provide access to both elevated play components (using ramps and platforms) and ground level play components (using unobstructed routes on an accessible ground surface).

• Elevated Routes = Ramps and Platforms
• Ground Level Routes = Accessible Surfacing

Accessible Design

We offer several playgrounds specifically designed for handicapped access including the "King Arthur's Kourt" Mega playset - an example of total accessibility and total fun for children of all abilities. We include ramps which provide access to elevated play components and accessible routes providing access to ground-level play components (sand tables, overhead ladders at accessible reach-heights, talk tubes, driving panels, etc).
